4 March - Piano Talent Hannah Shin

Hannah Shin is one of Australia’s most exciting young piano talents and was recent winner of the prestigious 2022 Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition in Brisbane. Hannah has performed internationally with orchestras and ensembles from Austria, Poland, Thailand and China. During this return visit to Australia, Hannah performs with both the Melbourne Symphony and Queensland Symphony Orchestras and this will be her only Melbourne solo recital. Featuring works by Bach, Haydn, Chopin and Liszt, this will be a recital not to be missed.

9 September - Firebird Trio

One of Australia’s most eminent chamber ensembles, Firebird Trio performances reflect the energy, colour and splendour of the Firebird, taking their name from Stravinsky’s iconic ballet. In this program they present Rachmaninov’s Trio ‚l‚giaque in D minor, a work which evokes the virtuosic, brooding colours of late 19th century Russian music. Firebird is also delighted to present arrangements of Arcangelo Corelli’s Trio Sonatas by their pianist Benjamin Martin. Beethoven’s late masterpiece, the late E flat trio, Op 70 No 2 concludes the program.

18 November - Yelian He and Yasmin Rowe

Yelian He and Yasmin Rowe, the international multi-award-winning cello and piano duo make a welcome return to Camberwell Music Society. “Y-Squared” performed to a packed audience at their last CMS concert in 2019 and are excited to present a programme of sparkling delights featuring Beethoven’s sublime Cello Sonata in G minor, Chopin’s majestic Cello Sonata, as well as Schumann’s ever-popular Five Pieces in the folk style. This will be a rousing finale to our 2023 concert season.
